STEPS RULES & CODE OF CONDUCT
Purpose
Our studio is committed to fostering a positive, safe, and respectful environment for all dancers, families, instructors, staff, and guests.
This Code of Conduct outlines expectations for behavior to ensure that every dancer has the opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed in a supportive & fun atmosphere.
Enrollment at the studio constitutes agreement to follow this policy.
Core Expectations for Parents & Guardians

Communication: Address concerns directly and privately with the studio director, Ms Vicki, and team director (for competition dancers), Ms Jenn, not through public gossip, social media, or group chats!

Supportive Environment: Encourage your child & others, focus on personal growth and fun.

Respectful Conduct: Treat teachers, staff, other parents, and dancers with respect. Aggressive behavior, bullying, or abusive language is not tolerated.

Classroom Etiquette: Do not enter classrooms unless invited in. Avoid coaching from the sidelines.

Professionalism: Refrain from criticizing teachers, choreography, costumes, or other dancers.

Safety & Maintenance: Keep lobby areas clean, ensure children do not play in unoccupied studios, and respect viewing window policies. No standing on chairs, no hands on the windows, and refrain from using viewing windows until the last 15/20 minutes of class to avoid distracting dancers.
Event & Competition Behavior

Sportsmanship: Display proper etiquette, respecting judges and competitors. Refrain from comparison between studios.

Attendance: Ensure your child is on time and prepared for rehearsals and performances.
Administrative Responsibilities

Payments: Pay tuition & fees on time.

Information: Read newsletters to stay informed on studio information. Checking our website, checking emails, and following our social media can help with this.

Policies: Adhere to all studio rules regarding dress code, food in the studio, and the fact that we are a nut-free studio.
Dress Code
2-4 YEARS OLD
3-5 YEARS OLD
1ST-3RD GRADERS
Tap Class
Any color/style leotard and tights!
You can also add a ballet skirt or get a dance dress.
We kindly request that you pull your hair out of your face and bring both black tap shoes. The black tap shoes should have velcro!
Ballet Class
Any color/style leotard and tights!
You can also add a ballet skirt or get a dance dress.
We kindly request that you pull your hair out of your face and bring pink ballet shoes. The ballet shoes shouldn't have strings for this age!
Jazz Class
Any color/style leotard and tights! A Unitard/Leotard would also be acceptable for this class. Dance shorts to layer over a leotard are acceptable as well.
We kindly request that you pull your hair out of your face and bring black split sole jazz shoes.
Hip Hop Class
Unitard/Leotard! Wear hip hop sneakers to class, and please pull your hair back for class!
Musical Theatre Class
Any color/style leotard and tights! A Unitard/Leotard would also be acceptable for this class. Dance shorts to layer over a leotard are acceptable as well.

Lyrical Class
Any color/style leotard and tights!

4th - 6th Graders
7th+
Tap Class
Any color/style leotard and tights!
You can also add a ballet skirt or dance shorts to layer.

Ballet Class
Any color/style leotard and tights!
You can also add a ballet skirt.
We kindly request that you pull your hair out of your face and bring pink ballet shoes that match your tights.

Hip Hop Class
Comfortable, loose-fitting, and breathable athletic clothing that allows for a full range of motion (Please wear pants) and the black high-top sneakers.

Studio Rules!
- Please pack only water for dance classes (no glass bottles)!
- We are a peanut-free studio!
- NO running or unattended children to prioritize your children's safety.
- Classes start and end on time. Please arrive early to avoid missing out on the fun!
-Parents are welcome to wait in our waiting areas during classes to allow children to focus and thrive in the classroom.
-Please adhere to the dress code.
-No food/snacks can be brought into the studio (please keep food in the waiting areas only)
